How
can I get a free quote for my translation needs?
You
are welcome to request a free no obligation quote by sending your
document as a .doc, .rtf, .txt, .pdf or .xls file as an e-mail attachment.
Please indicate the desired delivery deadline. You can also send the
document by fax. If you use any other file format, please let me know
prior to sending the file.
Why
do you request the original document before quoting?
In
order to assess the technical nature of the document, the volume and
required time frame, I always prefer to have a look into the document
first.
How
do you calculate translations?
Every
translation project is different. The price calculation is therefore
based on the volume, perplexity and on the required delivery date.
I
prefer to calculate translation fees on the basis of the source word
count established in MS-WORD. This means, for pure translation work
I charge a per source word rate. The advantage of this calculation is
obvious: you will know the exact price before you buy.
Are
there any other charges involved?
The quote is absolutely free of charge.
German VAT may apply. The VAT applies to individuals
and companies within Germany and to individuals within the EU. Companies
based in the EU but not in Germany are required to provide their VAT-REG.-No..
Sometimes,
complex layouts of the original may require other work than pure translation.
For example: processing text in pictures in PDF or Photoshop files.
- This technical work is to be considered and may be charged. Any additional
charges are indicated in the quotation.
Unless
your project is assigned as quoted and agreed upon, no other charges
do apply.
When
will I receive my quotation and how do I place my order?
During
the normal working hours you will recieve your quotation within a few
hours. If you like what you see,
I will send you an agreement (purchase order), and you are then required
to please sign and return it by fax.
How
do you deliver the translation?
Translations
will be delivered according to your wishes - by e-mail, fax or on paper
and in the format agreed in the purchase order.
What
are your payment terms?
You
will receive my invoice along with the completed translation. The
invoice is due as agreed in the purchase order; normally within 14 days
of date of invoice. If applicable, all services are subject to German
value added tax. I
prefer national and international bank transfers as well as PayPal payments
for non-European customers. All payment modes must be agreed upon in
the purchase order.
Do
you also provide certified translations?
Usually
a certified translation is required for immigration or academic purposes,
or for legal purposes and courts. As I have decided to work in other
fields, I do not provide certified translation.
